About

We're shaping the new world of work.

Positions is a talent agency for early to mid-stage professionals — and the founder-led teams hiring them. We make three to five hand-picked introductions, not 1,000 applications. We launch in 2027.

It started as Favourite Positions: a podcast Alex began in 2022 to find out what work actually looks like from inside the room. 80+ conversations and 20,000+ listeners later, the agency is the answer to a question listeners kept asking — where do I find people who hire like this?

Why we exist

Bridging the gap between people and work.

AI is reshaping work faster than hiring can adapt. Job boards are louder. Inboxes are heavier. The signal-to-noise has never been worse — for the people applying or the teams reading.

Positions exists to put the human layer back. Real conversations. Real judgement. Real introductions to people we'd genuinely vouch for. Built from a community we already know, not a database we just scraped.

Meet the Founder

Alex Young — Founder & Host

Alex founded Favourite Positions after her own frustrating experiences with career advice early on. Like so many, she ran into ageism and gender bias — once told she couldn't be promoted because being younger than the people she'd manage would make them uncomfortable, and facing sexism and harassment in the workplaces she worked in. She didn't want her potential stifled by outdated norms.

Encouraged by her mum (who now edits the podcast), she sought out people building inclusive workplaces and championing diversity — leaders making businesses that thrived and contributed positively to society, the environment and the wellbeing of their teams. Their stories proved new possibilities existed, and Favourite Positions became the platform to amplify them.

Alex is an expert in careers and workplace culture. As Director at Projects, one of the UK's leading premium coworking brands, she supports thousands of organisations across two thriving Brighton buildings with ambitious plans to open further sites across the UK.

She founded Favourite Positions in 2022 and has grown an organic audience of 20,000+. Her work has been featured by the BBC, Channel 4, Cosmopolitan, Metro and Startups Magazine. She's currently on the MBA programme at Imperial College London — a recipient of the Scholarship of Excellence and the Imperial Women's Scholarship, and a Student Ambassador for the school.

"Whilst I encounter misogyny almost daily, I remain acutely aware of the privileges that I have, and I'm dedicated to fostering equal opportunities for others — to ensure those facing discrimination of all types receive the support and opportunities they deserve."
